Breaking Records: My Return to Outdoor Art Markets

May has been absolutely incredible. After a long hiatus, I officially returned to the outdoor art markets scene, and I’m beyond grateful for the overwhelming support I’ve received. The energy you all brought to my first two markets of the season has been nothing short of amazing, and I’m thrilled to share that both events shattered previous records.

At the first market, I broke my single-day, non-holiday sales record. It was an exhilarating experience, but the excitement didn’t stop there. The second market I attended went on to break my all-time single-day sales record. These are the kind of market days I’ve been dreaming of for almost two years! Of course, having some solid Saturday weather has helped (thank goodness), but more than that, I feel like I’m finally hitting my stride.

The past two years have been filled with refining my art and style, paying close attention to what resonates with people, adjusting my booth setup, and experimenting with different venues. It’s been a journey of trial and error, and now, I can finally take a deep breath and know that all the hard work was worth it.

There’s still a long way to go, and I’m always learning and growing as an artist. But getting these wins has filled me with pride and has shown me a clear path to continuing this venture long term. Half the battle is believing that you can be a full-time artist, and you all are helping me believe that more and more each day.

To everyone who has supported my business so far, and to those who continually show up at the markets—thank you. Whether you’ve been at my booth three times (I’ve now seen the same person at three different markets, and it warms my heart) or stopped by just to compliment my art and grab a business card—I see you, and I appreciate you.
